This work provides an important survey of Zulu literature, and summaries for each title. It will serve as a good reference work for those who want to know more about Zulu books published between 1970-90. It examines various themes covered by the authors writing in their indigenous languages, and how they were able to express the socio-political concerns of the period. Authors examined include D. B. Z. Ntuli, Jessie Joyce Gwayi, C. L. S. Nyembezi, C. T. Msimang, W. M. B. Mkhize, K. D. Bhengu, Elliot Zondi.

An introductory text for learning Zulu. Descriptive in nature. Has eight chapters. Each chapter explains different grammatical concepts then gives a practice exercise. There are notes for the learner to clarify some points. The topics covered include letters of alphabet in Zulu, word formation, parts of speech, sentence formation, tense and mood, greetings, etiquette, question formation, demonstratives, possessives, diminutives, and numerals among others. The appendix contains ten revision exams and practical tests. Concludes with a list of references.
